We are pleased to announce the addition of four individuals to the HeARTs Speak Board of Directors. In July the board nominated and elected Erica Matyas, Jill Flynn, Kelly Schulze and Lori Fusaro to join the board and all four generously agreed to do so! They join Lisa Prince Fishler and Sarah Tomolonius at the board table.
At the Georgia retreat in April the team discussed the importance of growing the HeARTs Speak Board of Directors and committed to doing so. A nonprofit relies on its board to be stewards of the mission and provide governance as the organization fulfills its mission promise. By adding Erica, Jill, Kelly and Lori and the wealth of talent and energy each of them brings with them, our board is better prepared to do just that.
An important step in growing HeARTs Speak will be to bring our Organizational Vision to life. Our Vision articulates our focus in three primary areas: Artists, Animal Welfare Organizations and Communities. Accordingly, the board has established three committees that will be charged with ensure that the organization is supporting each of those constituent groups. Kelly is the chair of the Artist Committee, Erica will head up the Animal Welfare Organization Committee, and Jill will be leading the Community Outreach Committee. Kelly, Erica and Jill will be establishing their teams in the coming weeks. If you are interested in being part of a committee we encourage you to do so. Joining a committee is a great way to contribute to the growth of HeARTs Speak, steer the organization’s future, and work together with a great group of people to make a difference in the lives of animals in need. With the addition of Lori our Executive Committee is complete. Lisa Prince Fishler is the President, Lori Fusaro is Secretary, and Sarah Tomolonius is Treasurer.
